The President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed , said, on the evening of Saturday, July 3, while supervising an emergency meeting with military and security leaders, that “our country is in a state of war in relation to the epidemiological situation, and if we lost a battle, then we will not lose this war.”

Saied insisted on the need to combine all efforts and involve “people with sincere intentions” to confront the worsening epidemiological situation.

The President of the Republic highlighted the need to think with all concerned institutions in the state about a new vision to confront this situation.

He stated that national responsibility is not based on political calculations, competition or duel, but rather on unifying efforts and measures to be taken in the coming period.

Saied added that this emergency meeting doesn’t compete with any other party, but was necessitated by the national responsibility that should be superior to all narrow political or partisan considerations.
