During his meeting with UGTT General Secretary Noureddine Taboubi, President Kais Saied said that the state is now in peril because of poverty. We must therefore establish a new relationship between the state and the citizen by establishing a rule of law and institution.
The meeting focused on the critical socio-economic, political and health situation.
The two officials discussed the impact of the political conflict on the socio-economic atmosphere, believing that its outcome is the salvation of the country.
Saied denounced on the occasion political corruption, accusing some leaders of “thieves of the 2011 Revolution” because of their luxurious lifestyle in stark contrast to the day-to-day impoverishment of the Tunisian people.
“Unfortunately, many do not understand the definition of the state and I will not leave Tunisia in the hands of those who do not know its value,” he insisted.
Saied added that he has mastered the laws and articles of the constitution, so there is a need to separate the powers, legislative and executive. The concept of the three presidencies is false and there is only one President of the Republic, not for the sake of power but to be able to assume the responsibilities of this post.
