The President of the Republic, Kais Saied, expressed his strong dissatisfaction and condemnation of what is happening these days in Tunisia, stressing that no one is above the law and that there is no room for any treatment based on discrimination based on wealth or political alliances.

This came in his meeting on Friday, June 11th, at Carthage Palace, with the Head of Government in charge of running the Ministry of the Interior, Mr. Hichem Mechichi, and the Acting Minister of Justice, Mrs. Hasna bin Sliman.

The Head of State called on the Acting Minister of Justice to play the role entrusted to her by the law in raising public cases, and stressed the need to direct demands for lifting immunity to the Parliament so that each one should bear his/her responsibility because immunity is provided by law to ensure independence in carrying out the job he performs and not to fortify it outside this the frame.

Saied also expressed his deep dissatisfaction with the transgressions that threaten the unity of the state, reminding that the Tunisian state is one and that the constitution has made it a duty to preserve it, and that there is no room for any position to be exploited to turn it into a center of power or pressure to undermine its unity.
